Sure, you grow up with the language because that is your envrionment, but is it something you grow into as well? It's not like you can change the name of an object...like to call a pillow a "bed' or vise versa because no one will know what you are talking about. Another example: Bush made an attempt at called French Fries "Freedom Fries" after the French refused to get involved with his Iraqi war, but I have not ever heard the term in use unless it was to make fun of the attempt.

People are therefore really agnostics or unsure because God might exist outside their known knowledge.

When you think, now really think about an object, it’s meaning changes for that time period of which you are thinking hard. For example, a tree. A tree is a living organism. We all know what a tree is, but what really IS it? It is a name for an object that often grows to be very tall....

Does anyone get my flow here? It is like when you are berrated with an idea or word, like repeating tree to yourself thirty hundred times, then you lose its meaning!

Does anyone have a better explaination for this phenonmenon?

And knowing what you want, do you pursue it, or do you question your want? Does your want conflict with your should, is your want seemingly unrealistic, do others seek to divert you from your want? What are the obstacles between you and your want?

My job was to replace old systems by new.

I would replace new systems upon new systems as one by one they will fail.

In hindsight, 5 systems later, maybe the original was the best. But too much water would have gone down the bridge by that time.

Top management would support me in imposing a "new" horribly inefficient system to replace an existing better system.

Is intelligence really not that important? I mean, academic intelligence. Sure, I don't recite books from memory and believe everything my teachers tell me, but I still know I'm academically smart, and so are most of my friends.

But a few of my friends aren't, and it was one of those friends that told me the one thing I've been trying to get someone to say to me for as long as I can remember. But I don't think he even realized it.

I just thought it was amazing that someone who talks like an uneducated stereotypical public-school student could figure something out that my "educated" friends couldn't.

By the way, what he said was "You're smart."

Do you see futuristic technology and dramatic economic progression? What would be the point of all of that?

When I picture the future, I see the youth suffering. They've no reason to live anymore. It is all meaningless. Finance will no longer be a problem because everyone has been gathering money for the future. After so many generations have gone by, the money will finally reach its peak. What then? They would all serve a meaningless existence. They would just go on living; trying to satisfy themselves with more and more earthly pleasures and external goods. Life will become so depressing. Everyone's lives will become the great depression. What if we find all the possible cures for every single disease? Where is that all going? Just for the greater good of man? What has man ever done for the entire world?

Basically: Human life is already meaningless enough right now. Does it really need to get much worse until we all realize it? And if so, is this the only way we'll realize it?
