No. This question is answered when it is rephrased differently.

Does science prove the Genesis account that the physical universe have a beginning?

The answer is found in Genesis where ancient men Adam and Eve were told by God the universe had a beginning. And He is the one that created it.

Only in the last 100 years, after 6,000 years of human history, technology did science confirm the Bible's account that the universe did indeed have a beginning. They called it the Big Bang theory. And later still in the 1960s. two communications satellite guys found some cosmic background microwaves that were uniform throughout the universe that were residual particles of the big bang moment.

I think an ultimate question would be if one can consciously exist outside ones body at the same time.

I don't believe in god, and the answer to the question really isn't something i look for. If scientist ever find a way to prove the origin of matter or energry from nothing, then the christian will either ignore the evidence or accept it as the way god works. I think you find this an "ultimate question" since you believe in god you justify your position by the argument of "if god doesn't exist then how did everything get here" with the addition of "well god is unaffected by time and he is eternal". But this question is rather feeble to certain other areas of reasoning(who is god's creator, does god have free will, does god have a purpose in its existance, etc...), simply because there isn't an answer at this moment you take it as proof of god. Yet you dont say "does god exist? is this the ultimate question", because you will get a whole different respond to it. To me the "big" question regards consciousness and awareness.

I think you're instincts are correct and God is that which pre-existed all that exists. I think creating the universe is less than one second from matter the size of the dot at the end of this sentence is a neat trick. With that kind of power I think I would want to be on his good side.

Scientists are men not gods... Don't hold your breath waiting for men to answer something that God has already answered.... All powerful , all knowing , never had a beginning , can create on any scale he wants in any way he wants...... painfully obvious isn't it ,,, I mean , look up...
It sometimes amazes me how limited our thinking is.... it is we who think in such short terms as beginnings .... he did not create himself ,lol , He Always Was , He had No begininning..... I'll tell ya something , thank God that he does exist because in 20 more yrs of this kind of limited thinking , we wouldn't exist..........................

God created himself and the universe. My answer will be in St. Thomas Aquinas, O.P, Th.D. 5 ways to proof the existence of God:

The Quinquae viae, or Five Ways, are five proofs of the existence of God summarized by St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologiae. These proofs take the form of philosophical arguments:

1)The argument of the unmoved mover (ex motu).
Some things are moved.
Everything that is moved is moved by a mover.
An infinite regress of movers is impossible.
Therefore, there is an unmoved mover from whom all motion proceeds.
This mover is what we call God.

2)The argument of the first cause (ex causa).
Some things are caused.
Everything that is caused is caused by something else.
An infinite regress of causation is impossible.
Therefore, there must be an uncaused cause of all caused things.
This causer is what we call God.

3)The argument of contingency (ex contingentia).
Many things in the universe may either exist or not exist. Such things are called contingent beings.
It is impossible for everything in the universe to be contingent, as something can't come of nothing, and if traced back eventually there must have been one thing from which all others have occurred.
Therefore, there must be a necessary being whose existence is not contingent on any other being(s).
This being is what we call God.

4)The argument of degree (ex gradu).
Various perfections may be found in varying degrees throughout the universe.
These degrees of perfections assume the existence of the perfections themselves.
The pinnacle of perfection, from which lesser degrees of perfection derive, is what we call God.

5)The argument of "design" (ex fine).
All natural bodies in the world act for ends.
These objects are in themselves unintelligent.
To act for ends is characteristic of intelligence.
Therefore, there exists an intelligent being which guides all natural bodies to their ends.
This being we call God.

This also shows where everything originated.

If a god were real, could he create a stone so big that even he cannot carry? If not then he is not omnipotent. If he could then he is not omnipotent. HA!
