Sometimes, it's difficult to plan for your future when it seems like the world around you is crumbling.
All these conflicts, like the struggles in the Middle East or wars in Africa, worry me so much that I somtimes feel like planning for a sucessful future isn't worth it.
What do you think?

People, when they think about the crumbling, often focus on the national conflicts and war. But the crumbling is going on just as much in our own neighborhoods, in our own houses. It's not just in our leaders, it's in ourselves. It's in how we treat each other, every moment of the day. Each of us is either the problem or the solution.

In a sense, you're right: planning for a successful future isn't worth it, if you're just trying to get yours. The world is crumbling from our own self-centeredness. But if anyone cares to make a contribution to the human race in the form of some real caring and kindness, that's definitely worth it.

Well not planning for your future isn't going to help anyone... certainly not yourself or your family, and not people who are suffering in the middle eat or Africa. So why not plan? Maybe you can work in some plans for ways to help out those people that you are worried about. And don't worry about the world crumbling... every society up to now has thought that theirs was more violent or more horrible than before... it's just human nature to feel like things are worse, especially now that we can see the suffering that is happening in other areas of the world.
Anyhow, yes plan for your future! Not planning only brings bad things or disappointment and lost opportunity.

Life sometimes feels like it isn't worth it. Live for the moment when u can, and when u need to plan for the future, remember that no one gets out of this life alive and not everything is set in stone. THe world will always have its problems, just like u will always have ur problems. Life is what happens when ur busy making other plans.

The future is all you've got. If you give up because of outside pressures, you might as well give up on life. Maybe that should be you're driving purpose in life... to rid the world of those conflicts...now that's something to strive for...and you may end up helping other people that feel the same as you. You could be the first domino in a chair reaction of good events!

True, but you'll mess yourself up pretty good if you keep thinking about it.

I suggest you do what I did. I bought a whole bunch of cans of various foods and a can opener. I put them in a big Rubbermaid container and I buried it in a place only I know, in case of emergencies. If you want to throw in a flashlight and maybe a hatchet or Swiss army knife, it couldn't hurt.

Then I got over my fear and went on planning for a successful future. Seems a little extreme, but if it gets you over your fear then I say do it.

Or think like most and figure that if the world ends, then to h*ll with it and pull up a lawn chair and watch the show.

Things have been that way for a long time & yet life goes on. No matter how troubling things are you have to look to the future, because it's always happened before when we thought it may be the end of the world.

If you were to look at things like this you would have never survived the Great Depression Era. Stay positive. This doesnt involve you directly and until it does, plan your future. Because remember it is YOUR future, not the world's future :)

Well, just make the most out of what you have. The problems in Africa/Middle East won't affect you for a long time. I mean, tomorrow, is just like today. I don't see bombs falling out the sky.

I mean if you really want to be cynacle about it, all people die. So why work and be successful?
