viewing the world as though it belongs to us is a better way to live, instead of living as a part of nature like the rest of life?

We're born into this way of thinking, since our society tells us this is how humans should live.

I'm not asking what's better about our dominance view (which if anything, is a disadvantage), but what caused such a large portion of humans to completely change their ways of thinking? Was it linked to the agricultural revolution?

I am writing a paper and am looking for an ethical theory that would support the idea that we cannot place a value on individual lives. More specifically that we should not choose who to save based on their age. Utilitarianism, for example, may say that a 30 yr old is more worth saving than a 90 yr old, and this is what I would like to counter.

Using Kant's idea that the only thing we can know is experience as a stepping-off place, Kierkegaard claimed that experience is of three kinds: Aesthetic, Ethical, and Religious. Please cite examples that will further elaborate the meaning of each category.

Just wondering here, but how do people measure the concepts such as "good" and "bad", "right" and "wrong"? What do people comprehend as any of the aforementioned? Why?

There seem to be so many different ideals and way of measuring such concepts - afterall, we have those ideas and can ultimately make our own ideas as to the above and what falls into those categories, made me wonder how others measure/comprehend such concepts.

Although it is extreme (and not my belief) take the concept of Hitler and committing mass genocide. A lot of people will say those things were wrong, but why were they wrong? How do we define it?

Just curious here. Sure, it killed the cat, but life would be a lot less diverse without it IMO.

We are developing day to day by growing our knowledge (scientific). Should this be continued forever or there must be a stop!

Kind of a trick question, because I have my own opinion...and that's obviously going to be the answer... but maybe someone will validate their own opinion and change my mind. Either way, seems like a good chance for discussion...

What is a thought? What is thinking? How do you describe the first state of an idea: when it first forms in your mind, and you know and/or feel what it is, but do not put it into words?

What do we think in?Image? Language? Emotion? Thought/idea?

Is this ever justifiable or is it dishonest - can one love more than one person? It gets complicated I know because all good relationships develop beyond the start and need things like time together, physical contact and financial commitments to name a few - these things are not compatible with being married to another person.
