Steadfast happiness is a state of mind in balance without disturbance. It doesn't depend on what we do as long as our conscience is not disturbed. It really depends on how we take whatever events happen in our life.... instead of judging them as favorable or unfavorable, we need to accept them with equanimity and keep looking forward in a positive frame of mind. In order not to judge and accept everything with equanimity, we need to rein in our ego and desires on the one hand and on the other, try forget ourselves and self-interest in whatever we are doing...... you would agree that when we are really happy, we actually forget ourselves.

Step 1. Happiness means different things for different people so there isn't just one way of achieving it. Step 2. Happiness can't be reached as f you're going to some place and never got back - I mean,it's a state of mind and no state of mind lasts forever. Besides, the options you pointed (games, love, war, sex, food, painting, drinking, earning, work) are sources of pleasure, not specifically happiness. Happiness is something deeper and has a lot more to do with relationships - with other people and with yourself - than with pleasure. You know what makes you feel good,so take that way and follow it through.

Try to empty your mind with yoga meditation try to erase the sin and when you done ask within you happiness in life? Happiness has nothing to do in what you see and do it is just inside you that will tell the true happiness release it . because every gifted soul is in prison by the corrupted system of the world you must erase it because all human give different opinion and meaning. One example . You have a house but it is not yours? You have a friend but for how long? We buy materials so we can just trow away and pollute the nature?

I believe the key to happiness starts in the everyday. To actively seek beauty and joy. If your eyes are looking for beauty, they will still see evil, when they scan around the room. But beauty gets easier to find,to notice, the more you look for it. And the darkness recedes in the candlelight... If you create beauty, give love, serve your fellow brother, and in general just BE yourself, it becomes easier to find happiness. If we chased ourselves best intrests (happiness) instead of what we are TOLD is happiness, or taught to seek in life (which can really be F*d up). However, i do believe that you have to seek, look for it, to find it. It won't fall out of the sky.

Be honest with yourself, when a person knows he or she is doing the right thing, there is no regrets. Try to keep a positive outlook on life, and try not to be in such a hurry that you miss it.

In yourself. Be thrilled with what you have. That doesn't mean to be complacent, only to accept what is and continue striving for better and be happy with what the results are.

Stop looking for it, and do things you simply enjoy.
If only we'd stop trying to be happy we'd have a pretty good time.

The fountainhead of all happiness is within you. A person has to learn how to BE, to be happy.
