I believe in ghosts, but if you don't I will read and give thought to EVERYONE'S answers. I also don't take an opinion on aliens, as I can't prove it either way and there are too many pros and cons to form an honest opinion for me. Do you believe in angels? Do you believe in demons? Do you believe in fairies? (yeah, I know I'm going to take slack for that one--I don't know if I do or not. I lose my stuff ALL THE TIME! Probably just disorganized. : ) ) Anyway, what do you believe in, and what do you not?

A concrete example: would you rather be in a setting where you can speak a language very well so that others clearly understand you (but you have difficulty understanding them), or would you rather be in a setting where you understand everyone else very well (but have great difficulty speaking to them)? This question is for fun, and any interesting answers.

I was talking to a close friend and i asked her 'If You Could Have One Word To Describe Your Life. What Would It Be?' And She Said 'Eh'. It got me thinking. I Couldn't Find One Word. I was wondering how others would sum out thier life. :-)

Ive been pondering this question a while, and please do the same before you arbitrarily spit out some superficial answer: what makes wrong wrong and what makes right right?

why is selflessness moral and selfishness condoned? why is caring for others "good" and, say, beating someone up "bad"

ive got a few ideas, i'd like to see what other people think...

Not referring to the legal sense of the word. Before you simply answer with 'innocence is pure' or something simplistic please take into account other questions, like why is it considered pure? Is it only or mainly reserved for children? If so, why children?

Should or can one embark on a mission to get it?

When one door of happiness closes, another open; but often we look so long at the closed dor that we don not see the one which has been opened for us.

Hi. Im 15 years of age, but I am quite interested in Philosophy. I've never really taken a keen interest in ancient philosophers, such as Aristotle and Socrates, nor to say I have read anything into more modern ones like Hume.

But does anyone have a website that could introduce me to these philosophers IN A NUTSHELL. There's tons of info out there, but most of it is jargon - I just want something that explains them to a very beginner to even the simplest of philosophy. Any other sites, with simple stuff on ethics e.g. abortion, or any sites that look into an array of such topics whilst can be understood easily would also be appreciated.

Thanks
