Can we believe religious theories on the origin of the Earth and life if there is absolutely NO proof. I am not in favour of a scientists view on this issue, in fact I am impartial to any views that people tell me. But scientists do have some proof of the big bang through scientific research and religious groups have....writings and scriptures?
I do not intend to offend people with certain religious beliefs, but how can you say that your scriptures that you rely on are really true? That they are giving us the right idea about how life flourished?
I think people will have some strong arguments against this and I welcome them, but ill say it again, this question was nothing to do with me trying to offend religion. Just to explore some people' views.
Thanks.

Are they really afraid that evolution will somehow devalue thier place on Earth?
Are they really afriad that they won't go to heaven?
Just what is the threat that causes them to overlook a huge body of evidence supporting evolution. Evoution just has to be one of the most beautiful laws (not theory as the general public uses the word) in science.

Is there a universal ideal of beauty ?? If not, do you know what it is in some different countries ? Just curious about this. I know beauty does go beyond looks but for now I am asking just about physical appearance.

Thanks :)

I refuse to believe that Heaven can't be whatever a person's individual tastes are(including sexual).

But if that were the case hypothetically speaking, then there must be a place where all of life's desires CAN be experienced.

When I die, I will still want to drive that Ferrari at 100 mph and also have sex with a sexy actress like Angelina Jolie or
Denise Richards.

They say that in hell it's whatever would make you totally miserable and tormented that you've gotten to know on Earth(fire, hunger, darkness, bugs, snakes, etc.).

Wellllllll, then it's only BE FAIR that all the pleasurable, desirable things that someone considers to be their own personal paradise that they've gotten to know on Earth can be experienced in heaven, right???(Sex, sports cars, music, Pizza Hut, baseball, etc.)

I would much rather do any of those immidiate things above in heaven than keep kneeling down praising God constantly nonstop 24/7 never getting up to do anything else. Constantly standing or kneeling there praising over and over sounds like an awful drag and an intolerable bore to me.

The name of a person is often given to them by their parents...the surname...the given name...etc...

Can one truly understand the individual role of a person's name on the overall make-up of the individual?

Malcolm X, is a poignant example...

I feel it is time to fess up. I do not necessarily accept any supposition that just because someone now says that something is/was a myth or did not exist, or any dogmatic statement that can not be proven "off google".
I reject googlemania, googlethons, googledogma. If you must prove it on google you are wrong.

Is it rational to love sombody (love as in passionate physical and sexual attraction, not like the love of ones mother or friend). In Rational Philosophy is it seen as irrational to love somebody and expecially if they already have a partner. I am a follower of Stoic Philosophy and from what I have gethered it is wrong to love sombody who loves somebody else. True?
