It does and it hurts, especially when the person doesn't love you back and your still pushing it and finding out that it was all a big mistake. Our first and last love... self-love. Never love someone unless they love you back. From experience, you should know. Moving on and forgetting about the past even if it was the best memories of your lifetime is the best cure for a broken heart.

Question: can you prove love doesn't exist?
If enough people believe in an idea or a theory, etc, does it become real? Whether on the individual or collective level? Say you find 100 people that say love doesn't exist, but three hundred people that say yes it does, does love then exist?
I guess in all honesty, love does not exist until you know it exists, and then you know it exists when you feel it in one way or another. Even then it only exists on the personal level. But how can you explain that to the untold millions of people that have felt it?
Just my opinion though. Hope that helps.

Nope. I can't. All I can do is point you toward the uncountable examples of love throughout the ages.
That, however, only proves that love exists in the lives of those people. Love is an emotion, but also an action, and a choice. I find myself attracted to someone, I choose to pursue that attraction, and I behave in a manner consistent with the state of being that we call Love. To wit, I place the well-being of that person ahead of my own well-being.
Now none of this proves the existence of love to you, much less cause love to exist in your life. But perhaps it gives you hope that you may one day discover its existence yourself.

And do you have to prove it exists? Isn't that sad? - to have to prove that love exists sure sounds kind of desperate. I think it's much more important to know that you feel it - there's no bigger proof that that - than to have to show it to everyone else.

Yes.
1. Define the term.
2. Observe couples around you, and see if their behavior fits within the definition of love.
3. Look for any alternative explanations as to their behavior. If there are none credible, then by process of elimination, what you've found is love.

I can't prove that anything exists beyond my personal experience of it. I've experienced love. So it exists in my world. I hope it exists in yours.

Love only exists when you allow it. There are people that are incapable of love, so it would not exist in their world. Then there are people that love abounds in their world. It's usually very easy to tell the different types of people. I hope your world is a bright happy one full of love!
But no I don't think it can be proven, only a feeling. :)

You think that if you suffer - love doesn't exist? But better ask yourself why you suffer if love doesn't exist? I can see that you love a lot!...........but don't expect nothing......than your love will be like a river......just flowing and washing the bad things and creating beautiful things in your soul. Than you will have no more doubts of LOVE.

Love, like many words, is just a description. We use this particular word to describe a human emotion. Human emotions are usually attributed to chemicals within our bodies. But chemical or no, we feel it. Thus, if we feel it, it exists. It doesn't matter what love is, even a spiritual thing or whatever. The fact is, we feel it. Therefore, it exists.
Descartes said it. "Cogito, ergo sum". I think the same principle applies.

there are many types of love...you love your family, friends significant other. to prove it to someone may be impossible, most ppl who love outside of family just have to experience it for themselves. And when it does happen....they kinda just know it.
