Indeed I had been crossing all these 'troubled' waters all in my life, and reaching the other side succesfully. but I do not rush in, I wait, both with insight and patience to find the right oppertunity and time to cross, and I get across.
Try the same thing.

Me? heck no. Not suicidal here.
Mind you, rushing waters here means gorges and rocks and wide chasms where the rushing waters have dug trenches through milennia, and then the natives of course call them fondly with words that describe their scary nature correctly.
I am one of the ones who would find the next man made bridge to cross it, or walk back to the parking lot, find the parking lot attendant and say "wow, those are some rushing waters. Is there any white water rafting in this area, how much does it cost and is it fun?"
As for hoping it will go down before my eyes, uhmmm- no. If it did, the implication would be a devastating event. What caused it? Can I outrun the disaster? Waters receding can only mean earthquake, tilting of the earth, or an unexpected damming event upstream. WIll it cause a flash flood and will I be able to get out of the way when it arrives?

If I must, i will, no matter who what and where stands in the way (sounds like it's for the sake of agape), but before i do this, there has to be a valid reason why I should cross it with no problems.

I would first have to sit and enjoy the moment of seeing rushing water...somehow it makes me feel serene. Then I would cross the water and see what adventure lies on the otherside.

i would study the stream and rushing water to see how deep and fast it is rushing..i would put to memory the number of rocks i see at the bottom and how large..then see how far apart the rocks are and if they will support me..i will also see if there are any limbs hanging down for support and look across the stream for other aides to help me cross..after calculating my risks of survival i will then piss my pants and find a different way...got wood

I guess I'm somewhere in between. It depends on the state of mind I am in and how strong mentally I feel that day for that situation.
