Can the soul think after death ?

If so, how? If not, how not? Examples that can be verified or are hypothetical would be helpful (i.e. no personal anecodotes please). No I am not doing homework, just thought I would ask a critical thinking question instead of the mundane 'what is the meaning of life' question.

I'm trying to find a word that relates to some kind of philosophy or group that sees pleasure as the highest goal. It's not Epicureans or Hedonists. It's something like "Anipodean" or "Antimodian" but neither of those are right. Does anyone know what I'm thinking of? I need it for a research paper but can't seem to recall where I saw it or what referenced it. Thanks in advance!

I have seen many answers that in no way answered the question but were still given the best answer (not voted) and/or cited faulty or just blantantly incorrect data and/or quotes.

having passports renewed, standing in line for information, keeping ahead of car repairs, fixing things that are breaking down, acting now to protect oneself from the future. I feel like I'm on a meaningless treadmill, one I didn't choose. How do I get off without ending it all?

Basic beliefs have been considered "regress stoppers" and do not need to be justified since they are "self evident' truths. I have just read that considering these as basic beliefs requires other beliefs which take us back to the regress problem; so I guess if one is to claim knowledge either as a foundationalist or coherentist, one must be dogmatic and claim that the "buck stops here" either with basic beliefs or in determing what "coherence is"? Even the theories of truth are plagued with circularity. So what I have found is any position that claims knowledge will have to defend their dogmatism. Does any of this make sense?
