I don't know who this Gordon you speak of is heh, but I wish my last name was gecko haha.

ummmmm, I'm unsure how you can have spiritual greed OR philosophical greed.

Maybe just wanting more to better yourself can get mistaken for greed!?

I hate your questions like this :(

Last Night Bill Moyers Journal touched on the role of elitist Bankers in the Great Depression. One can't help but think they are American Royalty. Even those one step outside their circle were treated poorly and teased with the possibility of wealth. Of the 700 living members of the S&B's 500 are Bankers Speaking of bankers and despots wasn't it Pope Leo that handed over the management of the Vatican funds to the Rothdchilds. I tried to look it up but the first 100 pages of Google is full of Zionphobes Bashing everything as an evil plot to circunsize the planet Earth.

It can certainly be good for the individual. Not so great for everyone else though. The principle of greed involves taking more than your fair share of something, or more than you need or can cope with. This inevitably means that some people prosper (the "greedy") and others suffer.

if used to mean the excessive, uncontrolled desire and acquisition of things regardless of the fact that the excess possesion of it might deny the same things to others, or that others might suffer, then no i cant see any good

and that is the definition often used for greed

if used to mean a lesser state of wanting and acquiring things, and if you are not wanting things simply for the sake of having them, then i could see some good, but i would use a word other then greed

we might use the word "greed or greedy" to refer to the person who took 4 cookies, when everyone else only had 2, but since everyone had some of the cookies, and cookies are not really necessary for their health or well being, and we really wanted to eat said cookies , this would not be true greed

Generally, I'd say greed is a bad thing.

The character went to prison in the end, so I'd say he went a bit too far with that philosophy.
