I have had a number of dreams in which I know about something I never knew before. One dream I had was one of my friends telling me about someone in my school being pregnant. Once I woke up I forgot about it until a few weeks later I saw the pregnant girl outside and I then remembered my dream. In another one of my dreams I was smoking some type of drug and I felt my lips go numb. The next morning I told my mother about it and just as I said "...then my lips started to feel" she interuppted and said "numb?". I have never read, heard, saw or experienced that feeling ever before but I somehow knew it in my dream. When I told my older brother about both of these dreams and my theory that everyone is born knowing everything in the world, he said that that actually is a theory by some philosophers. Has anyone else experienced this or believes that this may be true?

I am interested to know where and how imagination and creativity takes its place in the scientific process. We often hear about how reason and rationity are important back- bones to the scientific process but I'm wondering how much of what is something usually attributed to art is also very important to the sciences. I'm interested in any views from scientists in any area.

It's a rhetorical question, so I'm looking for a purposeful (even metaphorical) answer -- but not wisecracks. If you can't think of something thought-provoking to say, please don't answer.

Don McLean - Vincent (Starry, Starry Night):

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,
Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

Starry, starry night.
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

We can all face reality. We do not kjnow if a god exist or not. Looking at a fosil and saying this is it is no different that looking at a image of Jesus on a cube of butter. It is imagination. As for fosils and bones. I never met an atheist I didn't trust. When money is involved any bone can appear. When enough time exists any god may come knocking. This is fact. Don't argue. You will ruin your reputation.
Would you consider existance of a god under any condition. Freaks would you consider a bone under any condition? I have an idea for a marriage.

...in between incredibly & and intensely loud song-writing and singing sessions that have caused more than a few eviction notices...

...that I take the time to help you, by profoundly answering your most "heart-felt" questions...and that all of you have already contributed to the next "Song of the Century" by inspiring new lyrics and rhythms in my songs...???

(And by the way...thank you all for your unwitting contribution...I'll try to send you all a "copywrited gratuity" in the mail as soon as I become a Rock Star...I'm in the "pre" Rock Star stages as this question is being asked...)

What's gonna be the name of the band...? (I write the songs...you come up with the band name...)
