Also the law of "cause and effect" says our experience of life(effect) is a result of the choices(cause) we make. If I purchase insurance am I not "buying into" the idea that we are victims in life and there are things that happen that I have no control over. If I sow those ideas will I not then reap the harvest of those ideas?

I am doing a research on the idea of evil in Saint Augustine and how it influenced contemporary philosophy. Do you know of any sites, articles or books related to this topic? Thanks

Are you good/bad because (one of) your parents was good/bad. To what extent would you say this is true. I know this is going to turn out to be routine nature vs nurture debate..but all the same..i'd like to know what you think.

We seem to go through various physical and psychological stages, which occurs at a similar ages for everybody. Plus all the illusions, self/deception and distorted pictures of reality which we create throughout our lives, created out fear, insecurity, weakness, whatever it may be. Our sub-conscious plays a big role in our lives, so being aware of this and coming to the root of fears etc. would earn us some more freedom, free will???

what does it mean?
( i allready know what it means i'm testing you guys)

"Seek and you shall find"

I have asked my self why I am wrong.
The truth is because I was right.
We often think in our lives why we are wrong or why are we right? We were wrong to be right and right to be wrong. Everything is one “1” and one “1” is nothing. This is what governs everything. Questioning this will only lead to insanity, accepting this will bring piece. Being human means questioning everything and ignoring this fact. We do not need to question because we already know, Understanding is the only way to bring piece. Do not think just do. If you are already thinking that you are doing then you have already failed. This may be hard to understand so, don’t and you have. What reason did I have to write this? I answer I do not.

ONLY THE SMARTEST AND THE DUMBEST WILL UNDERSTAND THIS.

We have been here less than a 100 million years ago (approximately).
and Bravo! We have poisoned our atmosphere, burnt a hole in the ozone layer, toxicated as many water resources as possible, and to top it all, we are competing with each other to posses the maximum number of nuclear missiles. I dont know why they call it a "deterent" as each one is controlled by the very same human hands that is yet to learn to live in harmony with the rest of the nature; and it takes just one sick mind, to press the button that could wipe off life from the face of the earth. Surprisingly none of the so called lesser beings have achieved this kind of progress and yet we call our selves the masters of the planet or perhaps the 'UNIVERSE'!

Assume that I have an immortal soul and someone kills or murders me. Technically, that person has not terminated my existence since I will continue to live after the violent act. Should the perpetrator be charged with murder or manslaughter?
