Today while out shopping every time that word slipped through my lips...I couldn't believe I had even thought HUN>
It isn't right for me to feel that familiar with a stranger.
Older persons use it as an endearment to youngsters. When today I said it to an adult male....I stopped and thought...wait I don't know him. He is endeared to me. This question has been asked in a different category and it has made me so aware of my calling people hun....I am now in the process of breaking that habit because you all are correct. We use it too loosely and broad. I will succeed.

I don't mind it so much as long as the person saying is no my age or younger than me , then it really gets on my nerves.
