What are some theories that can be related to color and it's effect on emotion?

I'm writing a paper and I need to know some theories and experiment that would back up my research on how color:

A. has an effect on emotion
and
B. how it does not have an effect on emotion

PLEASE HELP ASAP.

blue makes me relax and comforted.
It also gives me energy
