Yes, it's called Karma. For every action there is a reaction. Every thing you say and do will come around right back to you. That's why you should think carefully before you speak or act. Hope this helps

Only if you are viewing from different individual perspectives.

For example, if you lose your job it might be a disadvantage for you, but it might also be an advantage for your company or your company's competitor.

This is because those are subjective references (opinions), not absolute truths.

However, if you are looking it from a single person's perspective, I don't think this is always the case.

If I decide to spend 30 minutes of my time let's say eating a tasty healthy meal - and I decide that is the best use I can make of those 30 minutes - then there is no disadvantage to me!

It could be though, that from another person's point-of-view I could have spent that time doing something else, but then again, we've changed perspectives.

No - of course not.

Get away from all this "balanced world" nonsense..........if we were talking about Newtonian physics then it would be true, but we're talking perceptions here.

It doesn't take too long to disprove the point. For example, you win £10 million on the lottery (advantage)..........surely only a depressive would see equal disadvantages in this because, if you truly believed that winning all that money would be of no advantage to you, why the hell would you do the lottery in the first place ?

Yes,
In science the law of thermodynamics for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
In physics if you use a lever to move something you do the same ammout of work but over a longer poierod of time.
In sociology if you spend time with one friend you can't spend that time with another.
In economics whatever you own owns you.
etc.etc.etc

Yes.
Think about it
'for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.'
It's been proven. Without opposites, nothing would exist.
You can't have light without dark
good without bad
hot without cold
or in your example, advantage without disadvantage.
It's just how things are. It's how they exist

Very true. For every Pro, there is a Con. For every Jack, there is a Jill. For every action, there is a reaction.

Yes, nothing has only one side. Some things need sacrifices. Nothing is free in this life. You've got to get sting to taste the honey.

It's all about balance, you have to take what you give from somewhere and what you have given is then put somewhere else. Your plus just created a minus somewhere.
