this questions reminds me of a joke i heard once..
there were basically three guys who had to answer a question (for what purpose i dont remember)... the question was "whats the fastest thing you can think of? the first guy says "a blink. cuz it happens without me even realizing it.".... second guy goes "a thought is very fast. it comes to mind right away." ... the third guy thinks hard and finally says "diarrhea." the other two guys were laughing, so the third guy was asked "why do you say that?" the third guy says "cuz when i have diarrhea, before i could think or blink, i already sh*t my pants"... lol

The fastest thing I can think of is a .......thought, idea. Blinking of an eye is also remarkably fast but I think a thought must be transmitted before it acts. so I must go back to thought.

the fastest thing truth and light , though accurate to your question if these are the fastest ahead of us ,therefore cannot be known , the point of it is to be known ( consciousnesses or ego of man) it reaches a relative speed ,( spiritual belief in religion) that is understood .
Socrates famous the only thing I know is I don't know anything ,is fast as it releases the mass of knowlege so to remain learning in the space of nothing .

Theoretically the "Theory of Inflation" (2nd) moved all matter faster than the speed of light (Big Bang). Unless of course the "Theory of Inflation" is just God.
