I am teaching a writing class and I would like to add some films to it. I am using the text "Six Questions of Socrates," and I am hoping to find some films that relate to the following questions: what is virtue? what is moderation? what is justice? what is good? what is courage? what is piety? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well, ive always been into philosophy, but I am often thinking about the question of fate and freewill. Can they both exsist? Does our freewill make up our fate? If so, then our freewill surley does not mater becuase our fate is unexscapeable. But maybe we create our fate with our free willed choices? Sombody help me out.

I mean, I've been thinking about this for a while. Fire isn't a liquid, gas, solid, or plasma......what is fire? Should a new state of matter be addedd to explain it?

Assuming they've always been blind, is it possible for them to understand the concept, or will it forever be a mystery to them?

i have a big time problem with this because things like that can make me feel really depressed sometimes & it's not the confidence issue. i feel great in my own company and the company of other, tender people. i just want to learn to ignore the other type and not mind their presence.

thanx

I am doing my dissertation on language and limitation, and focussing on the spoken and the written word....does anyone out there want to voice their opinions on how we are (or even IF we are) limited by the spoken or written word? Which do you feel limits us less?
I am looking at Wittgenstein and Derrida for their theories too, so anyone who wants to quote them, feel free!!
Thanks

PLEASE no point scoring people just saying 'no' - it's really not helpful

i know that everything that i perceive is real to me and that i create my own reality. but am i the only mind that truly exists??? for example i can perceive anything i want to, but the fact is, is that i am not the only living thing experiencing and thinking things right? you exist, animals are real etc right? regardless of how we perceive them right? this is just so confusing and i have been struggling with this for a while. the thought of my loved ones and everything as i know it, is just my imagination and none of it is physicaly real is just a downright scary thought.

is there a physical dimention in which we all exist? tere has to be right? or else what are we perceiving?

philosphers are always trying to figure out whats real and what isnt. but i mean we are all humans and were all on this earth right? despite our perceptions everything IS real in this physical world right? dont bring anything philisophical into this, just tell me, this is real in the physical dimention, with other people, and other living things that exist independently from us right?
