80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

life is not knowing why or what your existance means to the world, but doing your utmost to continue with that existance

there that should cover most of the main ideas ;)

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

Life is a series of choices emerging from the very first one you make or are forced to make. Its simply something you make as you go along. Predetermined choices? i don't believe so, but there are some that will argue to the opposite. Life can be whatever you choose to make it, then again it can be whatever you choose ( knowingly or unconciously) not to make it.

You are here in this body because you chose to be here.

You wanted the opportunity to experience this delicious contrast in time and space, and with great anticipation you came to co-create with other joy-seeking beings, to fine-tune the process of deliberate thought. (What, where, when and with whom are your choices, too.)

The basis of your life is Freedom; the purpose of your life is Joy.

What is the meaning of the life?

When I am navigating open questions in philosophy category often face with this type of questions. “What is the life?” “What is real meaning of the life?” I don’t really know why ladies and women ask such a question more than guys. Perhaps meaning of the life is more important for them. I guess women have more philosophical intelligence. If it is true I wish to be a woman, because I will find out more important points in my life than now when I am a guy! 

So, what is the meaning of the life at all?

The Life is hard

Personally, I have think about this question since my childhood. When I read my first book, my father work hardly but he couldn’t support me and my brothers and daughters. So when I face with problems, when I see that my friends in the school had beautiful dresses and ate delicious foods and had funs in the weekend, so I asked myself that “why do I live?” “What is life?”. I asked such a question when I had no fun, no pleasure of the life. Life had been hard for me and perhaps is harder today.

But origin of my question is hardship side of the life. Not beautiful side of it! Not fun side of it! I never ask such a question when receive happy news. When I make more money in my work. When I fall in love with a beautiful and kind girl. I personally never think about this question in happy situations. I have my own computer. Some works, some games, some TV and holy wood films. Every thing is O.K.

But in hardship situation who can Help me? None. I will be alone in hard situations. Nobody care about my future and destiny. I am responsible for my life myself. I will make my feature with my current choices. Every choice that I make will affect my future life in next days. When I try hardly for my life so I will take good result and will be happy in the future. But when I don’t think about my future and do what I want to do and don’t listen to my rationalism so I will not wait for a happy life.

Analyze of The Life

The Life is a composite meaning. According to the fact that many meaning and fact is included in the life so we must separate these abstracted meaning and think about them separately. Now we act as an algorithm in computer science. In that field when you face with a complicated problem you split it to smaller problem and analyze separated problems. When you compose all solutions of separated problems so you finally get the final answer.

According to the above fact, I ask such a question “What is the elements of the life?”. I simply answer this question just for show you an example. You can easily answer this question with your own thinking and follow that algorithm to get your final answer.

1-“The life is consist of the birth, living and death.”
2-“What is the elements of the birth?”
3-“What is the elements of the living?”
4-“What is the elements of the death?”
5-“What is the birth?”
6-“What is the living?”
7-“What is the death?”

you ask such a question while you find out a resolved fact in the elements. You must navigate all scientific answer for finding every element answer. When you find all answers of all elements so you find the final answer. For example if the life really consist of birth, living and death and you find out answer the questions about essence of birth, living and death so you can define the life.

You may use many sciences, new or old to answering elements question. Of course new researches in scientific fields effects your final answer. So you final answer about life is time-dependence according to the fact that our knowledge about things around us is time dependence. So your answer about life in 2006 surely is different from 1006 answer and even 3006 answers.

The Decoy of the Religion

When you try to finding your answer in the religion I must say you that your get non-scientific answers so why do you answer your question your self?

When religious people trust to shepherds and church for their question, I must say that their answer is not real one answers. They use their askers emotions and answer them with what they want to listen that life is beautiful, god will save us, he will take us in hard situation and every thing will be O.K.

But when religious people get in trouble see their faces. They scare so much than un-believed people. Because they find out that all their preys and actions in good doings, helping week people and reading book don’t help them. They are alone with their problems and if there is god up there, why he is so silent? They are responsible for their problems. Because when they must try to save their life themselves they lose their time in learning holy books and pray. So they didn’t use their mind correctly.

So I propose to you that never try to find out your answer with religious thinking. You will lose your thinking way and gain nothing at all.

I have no enough time for talking about another topics that surely help us to find out a meaning to life.
I just list them, if you want know more about them don’t hesitate to ask me.

“Is life chosen or not?”
“Is human free in his choices?”
“Is death end of life?”
“What is our rule in the life?”
“Are our choices limited?”
“What religions say about life?”
“What is life from psychological point of view?”
“What is life from historical point of view?”
“What is life from scientific point of view?”
…And the story has no end.

After all, last night I finish a book from Froid. Now I give back it to the library and give a poem book. I have read first chapter. It is very interesting. What an amazing world.
