I believe there are actually several possibilities. My main idea is that humans will destroy each other being the power mongers that they are. Assuming this doesn't happen we will eventually run out of resources because we're trashing our world and as many sources have said: we will no longer be able to survive. If neither of the above happens, we'll eventually be blown up by our Sun's supernova or move to another planet, as another user entered. Religious interpretations for the end of the world are endless--there is no way to discern a religious end and date, as most religions state that they are correct and are unwilling to accept other ideas.

It is not only possible, it is inevitable. It will be several million or billion years (I can't remember which) from now, but it is a well known fact that all stars eventually implode and subsequently supernova, and our sun just happens to be a star. When its life cycle ends, 1 of 2 things will happen. It's been a while since I was in a science class so I'm not sure which it is. 1) Flames engulf the earth and wipe it clean or 2) Due to lack of sunlight, the Earth freezes and everything therein dies.

I do believe that the world as we know it will come to an end, but even scientific fact cannot tell you the excact year and date that will happen. Go pick up a king james version bible and read it, maybe you'll learn a few more things than just when the world will end.

Planets come and go on a regular basis.
The Earth could be struck by a large asteroid or meteor at any time and cause the destruction of all or most of the living things on it. In about 5 billion years the Earth and other planets in our solar system will be engulfed by the growing Sun as it expands from running out of fuel. It seems nothing is designed to live forever, including our planet. Death gives life a purpose.
It's seems the natural mission in life is to avoid pain and seek pleasure, whether physical or mental.

yes, god said in matt. 24, verse 3, .....says, an what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world. and read the whole chapter. da. 8; 19 says, at time appointed end shall be.matt. 13; 39. harvest is end of world. scripture teaches us, christ said, there will be a new heaven an a new earth, and a new jerusalem. but the bible also says,no man knows when the end, but god the father only. u should just be ready for that day by trusting christ, and asking him to forgive u and come into ur heart, he will hear u, and save you, because he loves you. god bless.

God promised not to flood the earth again; however 2012 is the year I am gunning for for numerous reasons, did not know about the Mayans. There is a meteor on a collision course with Earth due to hit 2012, not a lot known about it because there is a HUSH over NASA so as not to invoke a "mass panic" I know it sounds so conspieracy theory, but it is a fact.

I think that by end, means making it inhospitable for life or making life unbearable for humans to live anymore, as for the year I don't know, I could be this year or the next or the one after that one, or in 2012(when the Mayans said it would be or when time will start to go backwards) or anytime, but I don't think it will make it to 2050 if we still go on living like this.

Well considering scientists have already proven the world is going to end when the sun supernova's, i'd say yes it will end, and juding by the amount nitrogen and ogyen left burning into helium in the sun i'd say in about couple billion years.

at the latest, when the sun supernovas and destroys earth. Earliest possible cause is global nuclear war, which could happen whenever.
But if and when the world does end, there's nothing you or I can do about it, so why worry?
