Yes, absolutely. A door closing does not have to equate to a negative experience, but instead experiencing a change. As a door closes another opens. As it rains, it will certainly be sunny again. Just as the tide flows out on one shore it flows into another and when night shifts to day it is shifting to night on the opposing side of the globe. Is high tide better than low? Is day better than night? Or how about sun, is it better than rain? How can they be when they are requirements for living? The back and forth, give and take is the natural flow of life. It's just startling at times when, usually while unfocused or perhaps self-focused, a wake-up call makes the door slam shut and smacks us in the butt. ;)~

Yes, I do believe, "When one door closes, another one opens;" but I don't believe it comes from magic or devine intervention. I think the slamming of a door of opportunity or happiness motivates us to look for an alternative. I also believe that we forget the times when one door closes, another one does not open so we make the rule from only the favorable incidents.

Absolutely not.
Life is a scam. You're born, you waste twelve years sitting in a classroom getting your head filled with useless crap that you'll never use once you get into the "real world", then you either blow thousands of dollars on a worthless piece of paper with the name of a college on it, or you work crap job after crap job until you're too old to work, then you live in poverty. Or, if you become what some people call "successful", you waste your money on material possessions and get married and divorced eight times.
But one thing is certain in any case. No matter what you own, no matter how much money you have or what "accomplishments" you have made, someday you will die. You go into a hole in the ground, and then you have NOTHING. Everything you "own" will be given to someone else. Nobody will remember you, and all that time and energy you spent getting what you have will be a waste.

It had never occurred to me until now. I had always thought that the saying was 'When one door closes, another one shuts'. I was always comfortable with that because I did not feel that I needed to construct a great philosophy around that theme.
This new shift has made me think above my normal threshold and I hope to be able to tie my own shoelaces quite soon.

Not particularly - but I do believe that there are always many doors open, it's just that when one closes you start to look for open ones

No, I don't. Sometimes a door opens but sometimes it stays closed. When that happens one has to open their own door.
