What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow. Our life is the creation of our mind.

Your can say we are gonna live for ever but nothing has been observed doing just that. You can say we are gonna evolve into something greater but nothing has been seen doing that either. All we see is the exact opposite, species going extinct , life dying, and so forth. You ask me, desolation is right around the corner. But what do I know? Im just a man who has alot on his mind thats all?

are a man and are attracted to older women, (twenty years older)what is that about for you? Or anyone that has thoughts on this.
I asked this question in other categories, but the answers didn't really give me enough. I like the depth that comes from the philosophy category. Thanks

I've read a lot of times that if you really wish for something, it is very likely to happen - the power of thoughts

but I've learnt from my own experience that you can't "blackmail your destiny"

so what's true

Whoever said science was 100% logically correct all the time?

By the way, I'm not speaking from a biased perspective, I'm a science major.

and I'm not talking about physical genetalia. If you WANNA go there, ok, we will. Suppose a man was castrated, would he cease to be a man? Or, if a woman had a double mascectomy and a hysterectomy and could no longer produce children, would she cease being a woman? Ok...now that you're pondering that..you can answer my question. What makes a man a "man", and what makes a "woman" a woman? Are there really any distinct differences that only "men" possess or that only "women" possess, or are we all maybe mixtures of both, or a neutral gender maybe?

With Dolly the sheep the Rubicon was crossed. No going back now. With nano-engineering running atom sized engines, and hyper-fast computers with terabytes in memory, will the mountain go to Mohammed? What Frankenstien can be created? Will Disneyland hatch a 7 foot orangotang, that can speak English like the Queen or sing, " I'm the king of the jungle" and tap dance at the same time? Will the result be more sinister? What do you think will happen when we tame the beast?

It doesn't necessarily help you live any longer. Why do we search for pride?

Lame I know. But really people that are so obsessed with themselves and think they are the center of attention really need to get a clue. Who agrees?

Does the internet count as a form of collective mind? People share information back and forth and cooperate to solve problems. Sites like Yahoo and the open-source coding projects are the best examples. If it does not count yet, could it eventually progress to the point that the boundaries between one mind and another are essentially erased? Once information sharing is truly effortless, would our individuality slip away?
