Assume:

1. There is an afterlife. This would negate a reason for having this life in the first place. Some might say it's to learn and grow, or to find Jesus, or any number of things, but the question remains why can't we do these things in the afterlife? Some may say its to show that we have faith. If this is true, why is there so much filler(so many years when a lot of people find faith in what they'll believe in very early on)?

2. There is no afterlife. In this case what we do in our lives matters very little, especially since most scientists agree the universe will end in 'heat death'. Theres nothing that we can impact that will last in the long run, therefore we should recklessly indulge our every desire?

Try to look at it from an unbiased perspective and consider both possibillities(of afterlife or no afterlife) and then share what you've come up with for the meaning of life.

If not, how do they know so much? Are they just great at reading your body language and examining your reactions?

What about when they claim to contact the dead? Are people just hopeful so make what they are saying apply to them?
