Are you talking about precognition or Dejavu ?
Dejavu is thought by some to be the result of sensory input reaching one half of the brain fractionally before it reaches the other half of the brain, The brain "crosschecks" and finds it's apparently experienced the same thing twice.
If you have true preconitive dreams & can reliably document them, prior to the event taking place.....cool ! You might be a good psych subject.

P.D. Ouspensky thought the theory of eternal recurrence was the logical explanation of déjà vu. Ever see Groundhog Day? It's based loosely on his novel Strange Life of Ivan Osokin.

Your subconscience is looking ahead for you. While your bodily functions are at rest, the brain has free reign to think and plan ahead. Even to see where you are going. When you get there, you will be more comfortable, and your brain has dealt with your fears - somewhat of a defense mechanism in advance.
Wow, I swear I answered this already!

Strange, but it seems I've read this exact question, and all the exact same answers before. Stranger yet, it seems like I was wearing the exact shirt, with the exact stain I had on it from spilling coffee, right after that moment of dejavue.
