First, you would have to define the criteria for failure. A situation considered to be a failure by one might be considered a success by another.

Failure is dependent on the oberver and/or belief system.

Perceived failure can be a springboard for a new way of solving problems.

"We are all failures—at least, all the best of us are." - British Playwright J.M. Barrie.

"Everything ultimately fails, for we die, and that is either the penultimate failure or our most enigmatical achievement." - Edward Dahlberg (1900–1977), U.S. author, critic.

"Our business in this world is not to succeed, but to continue to fail, in good spirits." - Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894), Scottish novelist.

Failure in human behaviour can be the end of an event however, if the event is worthwhile and a reward is given for you or many to benefit, then re-think strategy / tactics and challenge the event once again. Make sure the effort is worth the effort and stress of escalating.

There is no such thing .......there are projects that did not work out as well but if you use every "failure" as a stepping stone and learn from it then you at least take that away from the experence
Thomas Edison was once asked how it felt to try and fail 99 times to created the light bulb and he responded that he did'nt fail he only found another way not to invent the light bulb

Failure does not have to mark an end but the beginning of a new phase of development. You are wiser than before this point and will continue gaining knowlege going forward from this point. The danger exhists in defining it as a stopping point.
