You are suppose to enjoy life to the fullest while you're alive, NOT obsessing about death at every waking moment. If everyone were like you, them we would all be vegetating and waiting to die, and nothing would be done by anyone..

Well if there is a purpose then death is obviously a part of it. That leaves the question what is the purpose of any of it? Well if you could answer that one with certainty you would be the smartest person on Earth ever. My guess would be that the purpose is wrapped up in life itself. You are the purpose! What does God say in Genesis 'I am that I am' - the answer is there I guess.
I think that human consciousness evolved so that the universe could look at itself, which means that in reality nothing dies at all, YOU don't really exist - YOU are everything - and nothing already - always were and always will be.

Death is a result of man's sin, in disobeying God's command. in Genesis 2:17, God gave Adam the warning not to eat the fruit. Then there is the confrontation in 3:10-19, that contains the curse of death. God confronted Adam, because He didn't want Adam to live forever separated from Him. In addition, God set in motion a plan to reconcile man back to God, foretelling coming of Jesus, Genesis 3:15. Life has purpose, but only when God is involved, life without is absurd. Just read the works of Sartre, Nietzsche and Camus. See also Romans 5:12.

Only a temporary purpose....to decrease pain and increase pleasure...all else is lost to oblivion.
In a thousand years, no one will remember your accomplishments. You may have an impact on your children and their children, but they too will eventually turn to dust. Unless you're a Hitler or Alexander the Great type person, you'll only be an ink spot on someones family tree or name on a tombstone.
Regarding an afterlife, without proof, its only fanciful thinking that we will see our dead loved ones or other ancestors.
Its an astronomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp (not that we'll be around to worry about it). So how does our utter death and annihilation bring meaning to our lives?
It doesn't, we only have the temporary meaning....or goal...to decrease pain and increase pleasure...

For those who believe that death is the end of everything - there is no meaning in living itself. But for others, I don't have to explain, there is an aim beyond life and that is the purpose of it.

Life that is birth and death are not under your control. Neither it is your decision to be born nor it is your decision to die or not to die. They are beyond your control Those things from the time you know the things is what you have. What to eat, what to do, how to live, whom to meet, whom with do friendship, how to spend etc. etc.
Hence you decide how to live, what is the best purpose. You may decide to have entertainment in life, to have spent on theology or helping others etc. It is upto you and how you decide. But we can not decide whether to live or not to live.
But you must explore the purpose of life. It is personal and different for each of the living things on this earth. And that is the very beuty of this creation.

you have a body - you arent a body
you are you through decades of change of the body
ie, you dont change, the body does, in the same time period, therefore you are not the body
you are that invisible thing you identify as you
you are energy not matter
creativity not a creation
if your body loses a limb, do you become less fully you? - no - therefore you are not the body
you are bodiless thing that HAS a body
it is clearly the will of the universe to give you a body, and the will of the universe doesnt change, so you will keep getting bodies forever
bodies are forever changing
nonbodies are forever nonchanging
energy cannot be created or destroyed
like an artist wanting to express himself and make portraits of his inner self, the universe is artist making portraits of himself forever in things
you are that artist

The purpose of living is to be born into Being: To wake from sleep of the sloth of ignorance. The fact that we die has nothing whatsoever to do with the purpose of living; except that it can be used as an excuse for not living our lives as intensely and as courageously as we should.

I've heard it suggested that the purpose is to prepare for death. Specifically, that the embryonic souls that we are born with need to gain experiences that will develop it and thus make it strong enough to survive the shock of death.
A thought from Leonardo da Vinci comes to mind — "While I thought I was learning how to live, I was really learning how to die."

Life IS the purpose. Why does there have to be any more purpose than that? The only other purpose that exists is whatever purpose you give your life.
