Well, "soul" is a word used to describe the energy that gives us life. I believe that divinity permeates everything. We all share they same divine energy (soul) and are all connected by this divine source of life. Yes, I believe that a rock, a spiderweb and a chest of drawers share this same energy.

I believe animals have souls and I also believe that objects like trees and mountains have souls. You might disagree with me, just like some people might disagree that animals can have souls. So the question is what are we basing our assumptions on? Is it just because we could not communicate with objects that we believe that objects do not have souls? Is it that we think that objects do not 'feel' and hence they don't have souls? If that is the case then soul = feelings. But we know that is not the case. So what is really soul? Does soul needs to be sentient?

My point is that we do not and probably will not know for sure what a soul is and therefore, if you believe that soul exists, you should be open to the fact that everything else could have a soul be it living things or inanimate objects.

In logic, this is called "begging the question, when the question/statement contains a proposition that assumes the very thing the argument aims to prove; in essence, the proposition is used to prove itself.
Your question assumes two things: 1. that there are such "entities as "souls" and that "living things" have them. Since the existence of souls, even in "living things" is purely speculative and a matter of belief rather than of reason, your question is a non-starter.

Just play a James Brown CD. The CD is not alive, yet it has soul. Therefore, non-living things can be soulful, thus, having soul.

Yes, in a certain way. If a human dies, he has a soul. The same thing could be possible of an animal, fish, bird etc. Possibly even a tree or a flower.

Things which are man-made (plastics, Styrofoam, etc.) would not.

none living ? and what is a soul? I think the human being is at the beginning of discovering louts of truths who are indeed a very little part of big truth that we now nothing about it , if the things have soles is also the same if we do have one. we now nothing.
