It was said that socrates near the end of his life stated "I know only one thing, that I know nothing."

I don't mean practical knowledge is bad, it's necessary for living and it's fun to learn, but are all the beliefs and ideals and ideas we have about life necessary? What would life be like if the sense of wonder and true questioning and socrates "not knowing" became prominent in our life? Would it open doors to a whole new mysterious world? (the world most children inhabit)

Why do we hate? Is it instinct or something we learn? Is it the need for revenge when someone or something has wronged us? Or is it because we are ignorant about something or someone?

You wouldn't like earth anyway. Theres way too much murder..
Seriously though, I can say so much and say nothing at all. Do you think that some people are meant to kill? That they have moved beyond the compulsion/trigger reasons for killing? That some kill for reasons we don't understand? Man's best friend. Do some people NEED to die? Is it like stopping a plague before it spreads?

I am surprised to hear how many mind numbing topics get interjected from people on subjects they know nothing about, with questions that aren't even worth asking. There are always some ridiculous answers that are the equivalent of spitting at someone you dont like in which no thought is given to them. My guess is that half of them are from "philosophical" college students who have become pawns of some egotistical professor who spout some self righteous wisdom like " the mountain is as only as big as you make it" and then walk off like they know all the answers to life.
Wake up people, do some research for yourself, seek after truth, dont settle for the mediocre.
I challenged some people earlier to prove the Bible wrong, the best I've heard was someone who had a internet site that was all about disproving Christianity based on modern books. Lame. Others thought Christianity should prove itself.
The reality......no one has to prove anything...the truth is.

A long, secure but dull life that leads you into "old age", or a life that is shorter with more exciting events and possibilities, the caveat being that at any moment you could die before 65 while the other life is guaranteed.

Is having financial superiority and in turn purchasing power at extremly high levels as Americans a negative situation for a world with more than 90 percent of it's population well below that sort of material elitism? or if it is good, how so? Is it just a part of our genetic programming to be elitist when in that situation? Why do we consider ourselves to know how to fix anything at all with the rest of the world? Is it because of our materialistic success? Does that success translate into anything beyond what it is??
