Everybody has internalized popular sayings, old adages, axioms, or idiomatic expressions that friends, relatives, or your parents used to quote...repeatedly! These can often be seemingly trite observations - even "common-sensical" that in fact have much greater meanings hidden unden their veneer, e.g., "Where ever you go, there you are!" With this in mind, please provide an example of when one of these idioms, hit you with an almost blinding, epiphany-like experience - a kind of "enlightenment" when you realized that indeed "Still waters [CAN] run deep."
This is NOT the kind of question that can be answered with two short 'n' sweet sentences... so PLEASE, serious players ONLY! If you're a "get in and get out quick" freak - looking for a quick "2-point pick-up," PLEASE answer another question more suitable for your "needs." Answers for this question should be "anecdotal" in nature... so please honor that request. We can ALL benefit from this, so please give your best effort.

''It is odd to watch with what feverish ardor Americans pursue
prosperity. Ever tormented by the shadowy suspicion that they may not have chosen the shortest route to get it. They cleave to the things of this world as if assured that they will never die, and yet rush to snatch any that comes within their reach as if they expected to stop living before they had relished them. Death steps in, in the end, and stops them before they have grown tired of this futile pursuit of that complete felicity which always escapes them.''

When a man or a woman orgasms/ reaches sexual climax, should the sensation and experience one goes through be seen as a connection to God or a connection of some inner force between partners?

Essentially, what are your views on climax and intimacy between partners. Is there and should there be a deeper connection than bestial sensations?

They say failure is not an option, but failure will always be there. so is it better or worse to say, never use failure as an option; and never think of it as an option.

How often do you use failure as an option, and why. the two major reasons i find people to use failure as an option:
1) Because they can't handle the mission, the work to get to the accopleshment
2)attention, they think that by failing they will get attention withiout all that much effort.

Kurt Vonnegut once wrote (maybe in Bluebeard) that the meaning the of life was, "to be the eyes, ears and the consciousness of the Creator."
That a pretty good answer but not quite on the mark.

How do you tell a friend you "love" him/her without saying "i love you!" which has a much stronger connotation? And you can't say "i want you" as we say in spanish since it would sound quite odd. So here's my theory, there's a word in spanish particulary for stating love to friend or other people "Te quiero" So... why can't we mix it with english and include in the oxford dictionary the word "quieve" from "quie-ro" and "lo-ve"! Hey try it! ;)

What do you say to this? It is easier to name our faults then our strong points. Would you say this is true? Why do you think so? I believe that people don't want to seem conceited, so they naturally have a hard time being positive about themselves. Maybe it is also because we spend so much time trying to perfect what is wrong with us, that this is all we can think of.... let's do a test run:
1. Time yourself while naming 3 good things about you... example:
a. long legs
b. compassionate (good friend)
c. not afraid to try/challenge things.
Took me about a minute and a half. Now name 3 things you dislike about yourself... example:
a. height
b. overly sarcastic/sensitive
c. talk/judge too fast
Took me about 25 seconds! Do you agree with my theory?

This is also a title of a Rand book that is basically a criticism of society building or rather destroying, based on the idea that, as society advances, certain powers reduce society to basics when they detect any change that indicates advancement. Rand asks, is maintaing a rule of the primitive a good thing. What are your views on this?

It would be a depressing to think there could never be a state of tranquility on this planet ever again wouldn't it? anyway personally I reckon it will be one war or another raging on through the years until we end up wiping ourselves out! What so you think?
