Without question. The understanding is clearer, more personal and (I think) more profound than a knowledge of God via an intermediary.

yes but is is very difficult. The greek philosophers did itbut then had a hard time dictating what their actions should be with no guide, they also god stuck on the idea of eternity of the universe which was proven wrong by einstein. However the ideas of God are the basis for one major religion and it is not a seperate phenomina of the ideas of god and the actions one must do, it is one thing, a path if you will, but only 1 of the religions investigate and see which one has the most simialr ideas to the ANCHIENT philosophers, youll be suprised. I'll give you a hint its not christianity, the philosphers essentially lauged at the ideas of the trinity.
But be careful , bec you can have no positive knowledge of god bec you can tpossibly understand how he opertates, only negative knowledge such as god cannot be physical

No. It is revealed by an indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. If all you want is a "secular" understanding, then you waste your time. Faith is required, and a personal relationship with the Creator. These things are hidden from non-believers.

We all seem to have a desire for something/someone greater than ourselves. We all want to make sense of this seemingly random universe. We seekers are probably the most honest. It is easy and comforting to adhere to an organized religion, but it is more honest to keep searching for answers.
No one knows, and the more they insist that they have the answer, the less I trust them.
Be good to everyone. We are all carrying a big load.

Sure. If you believe that spirituality and religion are not the same thing. There are many, many spiritual people who believe in a Higher Power (by whatever name they might choose). That does not necessarily make them religious. I, for one, am a very spiritual person. I most certainly believe in a Higher Power. I am comforted by the fact that we are not 'going it alone', so to speak. I believe that there are also angels and such that are with us always, to help us, to guide us, to teach us, to nurture us, and so on.
I am very comfortable with my definition of God and my connection with God, yet I am not a religious person. I do not belong to any particular faith, and I have never been baptized.
so again, to answer your question, I would have to say a resounding "yes". I am living proof of it! :)

Yes, you can. But no one will completely understand God. We are all like ants compared to humans in our thinking, VERY primative compared to Gods thoughts. The more we learn about God, the more we realize that he is a mystery....just like the universe.

Why not? For a great deal of insight read this:

Religion is some thing people made up. It is fake and silly. I t is used to manipulate people. Look at the middle east every one is killing each other because of their god. Be good be happy

I believe it takes every ounce of faith to keep an intimate and private, not religious, understanding of god or your higher power...
the truth is that none of us are correct, and we can only hope that we are close enough to god when we pass that He might grant us our most merciful request...
