I often wonder when I look at the state of World these days if it can ever be peaceful again! It would be a depressing to think there could never be a state of tranquility on this planet ever again wouldn't it? anyway personally I reckon it will be one war or another raging on through the years until we end up wiping ourselves out! What so you think?

It would be easier to think things are going to stay the way they are instead of waiting it out and believing but it would probably take mass destruction from a natural disaster to bring us all together; just keep believing.

I don't think that the world can ever be totally at peace and in harmony. Because man is always in conflict with himself this then leads him to want to lash out to free this inner beast. Thus because of our inner turmoil unless man is able to gain harmony within himself, then he will not have harmony with others. I also think that the people in power who are in control of our nations all want what they each personally want to strive for. When this doesn't happen, things then begin to turn sour, and result in war or conflict. As man becomes more advanced with technology, so will the destruction until one day when the technology will be the end of us. This was shown through the atomic bomb- think of how advanced things now are. When will we realise that things have gone too far?- we won't until it is too late.

Sorry if I sound really pessimistic, but this is just honestly how I feel.

i think there will be a day when war will no longer be necessary. if there is something else that could keep us busy and interested. my guess is the day we colonize other planes will be the day we no longer need war. there will be plenty of land for everyone, plenty of resources and interest between these colonies. but that is too far. the reason war happens is because our population have grown too large for the planet to take, without certain things like war, disease, natural disaster, our planet will not be able to sustain its species. you see we are not so Innocent after all. war is our reflection in a mirror. through war we see what we really are in this world. we eat everything, destroy anything that poses a threat to us without even thinking about it if we could. just because we have more power than other living things, that doesn't give us the right not to suffer or struggle. we are still animals. a rather savage one too.
the question is, what makes you think you deserve it?

When has the world ever known peace? Look through history, never has the world been free of conflict. Heck, Cain killed his brother for crying out loud.

Don't get discouraged, just get proactive. Improving the peace and harmony in your space will make a difference. Petition your city for new youth centers to get kids off the streets and thus out of gangs. Anything, what ever you are passionate about, just get involved.

many many people are at peace in this world.

If you want to know peace again chuck out the TV, avoid the papers and work enough to live and no more. It sounds simple but it is not easy as it is the last thing society expects from you.

When has the world ever been completely peaceful? I think never. Even newly evolved homo sapiens had to fight off other predators and then later each other for resources necessary to survive.

I think the collective perception of peace is what flucuates but not peace itself because true peace is unattainable in our current human setting.

Please tell me when there was a state of peace and tranquility? I think things can get allot better but they can also get allot worse. If this concerns you then start looking to the cause of modern war (usually money - Directly or indirectly) and decide what you are going to do about it. The products you buy are as powerful a voice as your vote. You are completely empowered to have a say.

Again? Peace is not known from the beginning of time. Those rare individuals who obtained Peace leaving general population and their values ,they do not give opportunity for not peaceful ones to get in with their judgment versus analysis.Period.

I don't think there has ever been a time totally free from war in one form or another.
Unfortunately human nature is such that we strive to be better than the next person.
It would be a perfect world if we could just accept differences in looks, beliefs and abilities

In order to be sure if there have ever been peace on earth, please let us all do some research by checking if there has been an absolute peace for 50 years at a stretch.
If we cannot find any, perhaps it is time for every human being to start to pray to 'something' they happen to believe in.
Of course, for World peace.
