You have to earn at least 250 points to get to level 2. You can do this by answering questions, voting on a best answer, and rating a best answer. If you give fairly long responses to questions, the last two can be the fastest way to earn points. You can also earn 10 points by giving a best answer.

Stop asking questions and make it your goal to answer questions every day. Do a good job and you'll get extra points when your answer is picked by the questioner as the best answer. Suddenly you will find you are advanced to level 2 and on. I have been.
