It's just not a natural talent of mine. Is playing an instrument like guitar something that is better done by people who have 'knacks' for it?

I dunno it just seems like musicians play so effortlessly like it was no problem for them. For me it's more of a struggle! I feel a little discouraged...

I am learning music notation on the guitar and I do not understand the concept of key signatures. Although I've asked this question many times, no one can provide me with a clear explanation.

Basically, how do key signatures work?
and
how will they help me play the rest of the fretboard?
I just don't get it, plus it is really boring playing the first four frets all the time...

I have some strings around for my accoustic guitar that haven't been used but the packages don't say the string letter they're for and I've forgotten. I need to replace the G note. Is this the correct weight of string for that?

I played piano for some years as a child, but never enjoyed it.

I've always wanted to learn to play the violin, and now am realizing that now is as good a time as any.

However, I've been told by a violinist that it is important to at least become proficent on the piano first. Is this true?

Okay. So I've just started voice lessons [yay choir ^_^] and my teacher says no caffiene or carbonated sodas, and I've been off them since, but my sister [who has also been in choir] says that I can drink them and it won't matter. Right now I'm on the side of my voice teacher [she knows best, hah] but I would like to know for sure. btw she says that it dries out your vocal chords and whatnot. If there's any other foods I can't have please tell me, I want to keep my voice/throat/vocal chords in tippy top shape ^_^

Love,
Tarja

I love ALL the Die Hard Movies. Bruce Willis makes me believe he IS, his character. You can see that shift to character, in his eyes. Many who act, do not.
How could "Die Hard 4", be BETTER?
LOVE IT!

So i want to buy some acoustic guitar strings?! What am i looking for? I understand that heavier strings have more tone but are harder to play etc, but i don't understand the whole idea of using numbers to represent the string size. I've seen a whole set of strings refered to as 12's or 11's, but i don't really know what that means. Could anyone help me out?

I am a Junior in a High School Orchestra, and we are searching for sheet music for two songs people REALLY want to play, problem is, our teacher can't find the sheet music.... And I would like to ask you guys/girls if you can show me a place where I can find the sheet music for these songs: Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell and One-Winged Angel by Nobuo Uematsu. And please, don't just say "Google it." Or something to that effect.
