I just started playing the viola and they put in the orchestral.I need to learn how to read music.I play the viola.Please don't suggest music lessons I want to learn on my own.Any tips would be great.thanks in advance:)

well, i'm learning how to read as well, but i can tell you that the lines are FACEG (from bottom to top) and the spaces from bottom to top are GBDF. and A sits on top.

thats a site that has viola fingerings... interactive, cant print out.

If you're serious about playing, you need to learn how to read music. And it's a lot easier to do it in lessons than teaching yourself. You'll learn from someone who's already made mistakes, and can recognize them and correct them before they become bad habits.

Or you can just muddle through, and not even realize that you're playing poorly, with bad technique, timing, and intonation. It's your choice.

Go on google, there are plenty of sites for learning how to read music, type in this, learning to read music for viola, tons of sites will show up, check them all out, and you'll be sure to find something on one of them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
