I've recently moved from Washington state and need a new agent. I'm looking for a commercial agent for on-camera talent. Anyone know which agencies are the best? Which to avoid. I'm non-union, but I am SAG eligible. Any thoughts on the Houston market? Is it mostly union or non-union work? Thank you!

Is it best to buy a more expensive one from the start or go for a cheapy and see how i get on. I play the violin already so am not a complete musical beginner but know nothing about cellos. What are the best brands to go for/ price I should be paying? Found some for around £150 but are they any good or to be avoided? Watching a couple on ebay but need tips in what to look for. Any good musical instrument websites to recommend? Advice will be very much appreciated!

I'm new to the violin and have recently discovered something almost sticky but not really...(it's hard to discribe) on my strings.

Is this from using too much rosin on the bow?? or something else?

I have to sing in front of about 4 crowds in the next two weekends. I perform all the time at this church and i've done the nursing home a few times, but i'm still not over stage fright. Even thinking about it gets me shaking a little. I tell myself before that I sound good and i try to be confident, and people constantly tell me I sound good, but when I actually go up there to play I shake really really bad, and I get really nervous, even though I know I have no need to be. What can I do to get over the stage fright and the shaking that comes with it? it ruins my voice, and makes it shake, which can't happen if i'm belting out a song.

i'm 14 years old and last septemebr, i started taking piano classes and sol-fa classes. But the problem is, i also really want to know how to play the violin and i'd feel really bad later on if i didn't start now (i'm already mad at myself for quitting the violin and piano classes i had started when i was much younger...) before it's too late and i really get too old to start an instrument. so i was wondering if it's ok to learn 2 instruments at once... (and i'm not talking money-wise) : i'd continue piano and sol-fa and next september, take additional violin classes???...

How many times must one sing the song (with emotion or imageries) in order to fully understand the song? What does it mean to understand a song? Do you ever get sick of practicing the same song over and over and how do you.... make it seem "fresh and new" with new perspective each time you perform it? Thanks so much.

I just took a theatre course at my university. I'm majoring in something else. I just put on a show and I did really well!. I'm 28, and I can sing and I used to be a dancer but I never thought I could act. I really really like it. Do you think its too late to train in acting wether from university or from a proper performance school?. I don't think it is, not like it was with dancing. I'm interested in enrolling in a theatre program whilst I'm working in the UK this summer. They consentrate on classical training which would be the kind I would seek if i did take another acting course.

I'm 26 and have been playing piano professionally for about 10 years. I also play guitar, electric bass, and a little bit of banjo. I've played music in pretty much every style and was thinking of adding another instrument to my arsenal, primarily for orchestral pit work or just for fun. I've narrowed it down to the trombone, cello, and the string bass. I'm not terribly interested in any of the woodwinds or the viola. Trumpet and violin are in the 'maybe' pile. Should I stick to what I know (strings) or try for something different (brass)?

I am a very decent singer. I have been in musicals and performed numerous pieces in concerts, though mostly in choir. I have a fantastic ear for music and sound. But, I am in no way a superb vocalist.

Is it possible to be taught and trained to have a better, more tonal quality to your voice? Or is it really just nature's luck of the drawl as far as talent. I always wondered if paying for a vocal coach was ever really worth it.
