The weird mystery lyrics maybe robert palmer

The tears I cried are not the same
As the tears I cried before
the feelings I felt are not the same
As the feelings I felt before
the pain that I pained is not the same
as the pain I felt before
but I guess it's fine
because somewhere in my muddled brain
is the memory that once you were mine

I can't get it out of my head. It sounds like a cross between Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash It's a very slow somber weird song. It's driving me mad not knowing more about it.

Besides the musicians, what are the other duties associated with these large ensembles? In other words, are there people who have regular jobs working with/for all the symphonies and orchestras? Do they go on tour like a small band?

In a (3/4) song I made, in one measure three notes are played. The first has 3 beats to it, the second 2, and the last 1. Meaning, each is played as a quarter note, but held down until the end of the measure.

Would I draw that as three quarter notes with slurs between them? If not, how would I make that?

I've been singing and playing guitar for awhile now and while my guitar playing has greatly improved my singing voice is still awful. Why is this? I must be practiceing incorrectly. I plan to get an instructor this summer but what can i do in the mean time. (keep in mind that I live in a dorm/apartment, so i never get the chance to practice anything loudly)

I'm assuming it means to hold that note until you reach the other note it is connected to, but isn't that assumed? I mean, if an arc connects a half-note C to a half-note C, then a half note G is shown (all in one 4/4 measure), isn't it assumed you were going to hold that C for a halfnote anyway? What's the point of that arc?

Alright, here's the deal...

I've applied to Tisch School of the Arts in New York, and I want to audition for the musical theatre program. I already have my monologues ready to go, but I still need sixteen bars each from two songs from musicals (a ballad and an upbeat song).

Anyone have any suggestions??

I have wanted to play an instrument my whole life...but after bad experiences as a child feel very tense and anxious about it. Is there an instrument which is inherently easier to play than any other? I'm most interested in piano or saxophone but am willing to consider anything.
Thanks.
