Definitely a- symphony orchestra

The 1800's were when romantic symphonic music was at its height! (Beethoven, Brahms, Berlioz, Wagner, etc.!)

Until the 19th century, smaller ensembles and smaller-scale musical works were much more prevalent.

Minstrels were way earlier- 1200's?
Brass bands could be any time period, but they certainly were not important historically or musically during the 19th century.
Jazz really only started in the very late 1800's, but really didn't take off until the early 20th century.

I'm almost positive that the answer is C. Jazz began to flourish in the early 20th century. Minstrel shows in America during this time period were more like variety shows, rather than instrumental ensembles. As for the symphony, it has been around since at least the 1400s or 1500s, but during that time most of the symphonic innovations seemed to take place in Europe.

ETA: According to Wikipedia:

"While brass instruments had long been used together in various contexts, the first modern bands were developed early in the 19th century in Prussia, when all military and government bands were issued the new technology of rotary valve instruments and instructed to use standard tuning."
