You probably need to hook up with a composer...there's much more market for complete songs than lyrics alone. Then you would be best not to market to bands but to record companies; they give the songs to the appropriate artists.

You might begin with a high school band director. They will sometimes use a piece if they like it. One of our directors wrote his own music two years ago and won a rather large contest with it. Once your music is used by a group of that sort, you can use them to springboard to other local bands easily. It is also possible to record music with a local "Rock Band" and send it on to a recording studio. There are always people looking for good music to record. It is possible that you might be able to get your music sent to a studio and have them find someone to record it. MAKE SURE that you copyright your music before anyone else gets ahold of it! I had an English Professor who made the mistake of sending his work in too early and it was claimed/copyrighted by another individual. I hope that this is some help. Have a GrEaT HoLiDaY!!

You can also hook up with a publisher. Much music today is a comnination of songs written owned by publishers, in addition to lyrics discovered the same way.
