That is a fallacy. There are great singers who are thin. People used to believe that opera singers had to be fat to sing well, it turned out not to be true. Maria Callas, was a great classical opera singer in the 50's and she was thin.

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://tr.im/X7alw

Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.

Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

Um...weight has absolutely nothing to do with singing. Your lung capacity and strength yes, but not your weight. Look at opera singers, Aretha Franklin...there are many 'overweight' singers. Perhaps you just cannot sing. Not everyone is born with talent

an overweight person can sing better than an average or skinny person because they have more air to breath in since they might have more room. not only overweighted people can sing better but anyone that can have more space to fill air with, the only thing being overweighted is it is not healthly. but always stay fit! but it is fine being overweighted, dont lose your confident. i had always been overweighted, but what i found out was that i sang wonderfully and i loved my voice. i have a strong, steady voice.

im happy to be who i am: )

sing with all your heart!

As an informally trained physicist, I can tell you that is has little to do with weight and EVERYTHING to do with gravity and inertia. Try forcing air through a large beaker tube into a kazoo and then do the same with a small beaker tube. You will find the kazoo will sing more sweetly whence the air is forced thorugh the small beaker tube. Now, think of the beaker tube as the windpipe. And there is your answer. I hope this makes sense.

I don't know but that isn't always true.

example: Ernie Haase and Signature Sound- Southern gospel group. All are taller than 6'2. The bass singer is a toothpick! They're all fairly thin and have beautiful voices....even Roy (the pianist)! lol

I don't know about that, but I have heard that if you're overweight and sing well, you shouldn't lose the weight because you don't have the control of your diaphragm or something like that.

Maybe the actuality is that people who sing well as well as those who are artists in any other areas are creative and guided by their senses in general and really enjoy eating foods as rich and sensually stimulating as their other interests?

It's just a thought.
