Masterpieces are so priceless, I'm sometimes surprised they expose them to the public. Maybe they don't? Maybe the originals are kept safe somewhere? After all, didn't they do that with those Chinese terracotta warriors?

I know that Vlad tapies III (aka Dracula) was a member, as was Elizabeth Bathory - but was their order about?! Was it protecting the Christian Church? These 2 people where legendary for their brutalness and the carnage they created - surely the order wasn't good!

understand so little about other cultures and how other countries with their unique attributes come to be?

One country's democracy is another country's poison. Do not believe me? Look what the US did in Iraq.

I am not saying that dictatorship should return, what will happen to Iraq is ultimately the choice of Iraqis.

Any information supporting the idea that religious skepticism was prevalent in the nineteenth century would be great. I have half of my paper done and have already referenced things like the rise of science and Darwinism. If you would like to read it you can email me. I would love any criticism or comments.

I need to show how changing social classes and the increase of women rights play into RS as well...
Thank you for reading my question!

Am I the only one who misses the days when the History Channel focused primarily on history? Enough with the Modern Marvels (although some of them are good)! I mean, yeah, I got tired of it being The Hitler Channel, but I'm certainly not happy with the direction they've now taken.

Something I find of intrest was the Tsavo maneating Lions. Two maneless, large and aggressive lions that killed 135 workers in Kenya. This story was turned into a pretty acurate movie called the Ghost and the Darkness.

The story of King Edward II was also pretty fascinating.

How he was hated as a king, how he finally became dethroned, then, murdered in a horrific way.

So it's your turn - what story in history that captivated you, or horrified you, or delighted you? Provide links to sites if you can so we can all read about it :)

I have an assignment for my 10th grade honors history class where we have to pick any american history topic and come up with discussion questions for that topic to lead the class. An example would be 'What affect would the Holocaust have on the world if it were going on today?' I was thinking about doing prohibition of alcohol. What are some discussion questions and answers tying in that topic with the world today. I do have a few in mind, I'd just like to hear some others for a better understanding on the positive and negative points of it.
