And during his 20 years, did he actually bring back huge amounts of treasure and exotic animals? Where can I go to look at information concerning this man?

Is he the one featured on Discovery Channel? Guess he was not really an admiral but kinda of an explorer just like Columbus or Magellan. Think he wan only given the power by the emperor to explore other parts of the world in order to trade. It is still a debate on whether he reached the US mainland though.
