So,my Honors teacher is going to make us write two essays answering these following questions. Why is history important? Why should we study history?
I'm not going to write my whole essay just the introduction, can you please tell me if i should add anything or suggestions.
Why is history important?
History is important for various reasons. One being that history contains information from the past.If we do not know our past causes and effects we're unable to know how everything today is what it is,and History provides us with that vivid information.History is not only important but interesting in ways that it shows us changes over time. For example many years ago,the houses we now live in we're most likely now located where they are now.History changes over time, perhaps not as fast but it sure changes and drastically,it does. For a fact due to scientific researches we know that there were several creatures back then, that no longer exist such as dinosaurs.

Statues of historic military men on horses, why are some of the horses standing on all four feet and others have one or two feet off of the ground. Does it have something to do with how the person died, perhaps in battle or a natural death?

Since much of what we knows about history and the past are from old text and books , how do we know if things really did happen? I mean, people back then could easily just wrote a play or stories and we could very well mistaken them for historical fact. There is no such things as photograph or video back then.

So how do we know for sure if things really did happen?

Any two states, although one must be a Federal state and one a Confederate. The states have to be linked by a railway system before the civil war. If you could tell me the states, and the name of the railways system if there is one. If there's not, than if you could tell me a confederate state with a railway that ends very near to the border of a federal state, that would be great!

What I mean by this is was it money that had been borrowed from the US after the war to rebuild Britain, which in effect created a false economy. When Wilson became PM he was noted for saying "we never had it so good" and in a sense this is true. Britain has only just paid the US back debts from WW2 (although ,we still owe them money from WW1 which we have never mentioned or paid back). What I would like to know is was the sixties economic situation false in terms of the knock on effect it had during the seventies, ie: union strikes etc.. eighties false boom and recession etc.
I am not sure if I have this right or not so any information would be most helpful.
Regards
Natasha
