The French and Indian War was just part of the larger Seven Years War between Great Britain and France. They had territorial disputes in different parts of the globe, so in a sense it was the first "World War". The French and Indian part was fought in North America and is the reason why Canada today is a part of the British Commonwealth (Queen Elizabeth is head of state). Actually, the French and British both had their Native American allies. That's about the jist of it. I'm sure other people out there could go into more detail.

While britain had colonies in north america (it happened right before the revolution), so did france and spain. They were the three powers back then. I'm not totally sure what happened, but I'm 75% sure that Britain offended a few indian tribes. I also think that france thought they would grow stronger if Britain didn't have colonies, but for whatever purposes, the french and indians teamed up and attacked britain. Britain lost.

This caused great expenses, which the king repaid by taxing the colonies. This spurred the revolution.

The French and Indian war was between British colonies in America and French colonies north of the USA.
At one point George Washington was serving in the British forces. You could read the book"The Last of the Mohicans" by James Fenimore Cooper.

Perhaps you should consult your textbook? Btw...in the french and indian war the french didn't fight the Native Americans..they were allies against the British I believe. Perhaps against the Americans...its been a long time since I studied that war. I could be wrong...
