He was one of the first political propagandists in history.... Look at his defeat at Kadesh against the Hittites. How could a god-king be defeated? Easy, he re-wrote the history by plastering all over his kingdon, his exploits at Kadesh, making it look like he won, to save face among his people..

There are a variety of ways to spell it, but none with an 'h.' (Ramses, Rameses, Ramesses). He was the third pharaoh of the 19th dynasty in the New Kingdom--13th century BC. He reigned for 67 years, had over 100 wives and as many children. He outlived the first 12 of his sons as well. He was about 90 when he died.
He was a prolific builder, building more monuments than any other pharaoh in history; however, some of his statues were actually those of older pharaohs that he simply took for himself, scratched off the names of the older pharaoh, and replaced it with his own. Thus we don't know how many statues or monuments were actually built by him and how many were stolen from others. We do know that the statues of Abu Simbel (4 colossal seated statues of Rameses, about 65 ft tall each) were carved by him. His wife was Nefertari, and an elaborate, ornate tomb was built by him for her. It's one of the best preserved tombs available to us today.
He was buried in the Valley of the Kings as virtually all pharaohs of the New Kingdom were, and his mummy was discovered in 1881. You can see it in Cairo today, but it actually toured the US about 20 years ago.
His battle of Kadesh is not exactly a 'defeat.' He claimed victory because in fact it was an ambush by the Hittites, but Rameses fought them back and managed to escape. Thus he survived what should have been a massacre, but he didn't gain control of the territory, and both sides claimed victory.
After his reign, Egypt began to slowly decline as a major power. His son Merneptah and his great-grandson Rameses III were the last great pharaohs before the foreign powers of the Assyrians, Nubians, and Persians came in.
Unless you mean Ving Rhames...I don't know if he's a junior or senior.
