There were 2 well-known and important events that happened when Thomas Jefferson was president.

One was the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The other one, you gotta try and get it. (HINT: in the 2nd line of the Marine Corps motto, it talks about Tripoli. That's in Italy and that Tripoli is referring to this 2nd even that I am talking about). Think along the lines of pirates.... that should give it away!!
Specifially, what kind of pirates were these certain ones called?
Basically, they attacked ships or received tribute-pay them for safe passage..except England, these pirates feared England.

However, Thomas Jefferson had to stop this, because America was just forming, and despite the huge debt. Ships attacked affects trade, which affects American economy. Thomas Jefferson did get the pirates to stop attacking..

So, 2 questions.. whats the other important, well-known event under Thomas Jefferson, and what were these pirates called?

Good luck. I hope yall learn some history.

TJ redefined Marine Corps, NOT create it. Before that, the Marines were basically the Navy's policemen.

Samuel Adams was born in Boston on September 27, 1772.
Adams grew up being concerned about politics.
Mostly, he wandered around discussing how he felt with any listeners.
Unfortunately, he knew that would not be enough to make a difference.
Eventually, he started writing articles about his beliefs.
Later, he started a group called Country Party.
Adams organized the Boston Tea Party to oppose tea tax.
Due to the need to explain his actions, he joined John Hancock.
Adams held a meeting to discuss the British Parliament.
Marking his name onto the Declaration, he proved his loyalty to America.
Samuel was considered a traitor to the English, but he was a big part of our history.
