Oh, come on. Don't use our opinions for your homework. The stamp act, at its most basic, required the colonists to buy a stamp before they could do almost anything: buy stuff, get married, etc. It got really ridiculous, because they had to buy a stamp and THEN buy what they wanted. All this money went in the pockets of the dear old King, and to pay for England's wars.

Pito16places is correct, so award him full points. The British government felt that the colonists were part and partners with the mother country in fighting wars with France. This is because the French attacked American colonists and allied with Indian tribes to attack colonists also. That's why they're called the French & Indian wars. The British government thought that if the colonies benefited from defense from the French and Indians, then they should help pay. The colonials differed.
