Did you know that the Wright Brothers were not the first to fly in a proper aeroplane. The world’s first aeroplane was designed and built at Brompton, England, a village ten miles west of Scarborough. The name of the man who undertook this task was Sir George Cayley (1773 - 1857) who lived at Brompton Hall. Am I the only one who didn't know this?

We were having a discussion at work about the effect of violence on TV, on children. I said it doesn't make a difference because people are drawn to violence and have enjoyed watching it for 2000 years as entertainment, but a coworker said that maybe children weren't allowed to go to the Gladiator games? Does anyone know what the audience of the Colosseum was made up of?
