My Mum was born in India & my Granny's death was registered there too - we have my Mums birth certificate but cant trace granny's death (grandad died a long time ago so cant ask him, likewise all of granny's other relatives who knew her) - Im trying to trace both granny's death certificate & the birth/death/marriage certificates of other relatives in India.

The problem seems to be that Mum was born & granny died (& all the other births/marriages/deaths happened in the 1940's when control of India was being handed back to the people of India & both the British & Indian authorities kept completely different records, neither of which we can find as the people involved weren't in the British military.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - Mum's been trying to do this for years but doesnt know where to start so I thought I'd try to help.

My great grandmother worked for Lord Battenburg in London. She was a maid and after having children went back to work in the laundry. Apparently she would bring home second hand clothes from the job. Would there be a record of her being employed there. I don't know which residence it was. Her name was Mary Hurley nee Sullivan, originally from Ireland.

Maybe you could help me with a big problem. I can't find proof that my grandmother Delores Taflinger was married to a Fay D. Amick b.1910 in Marysville, Indiana. BUT I know that I think two of their kids are Marilyn Joan Amick, and Mary Josephine Amick -2nd child) I'm wondering if you could help. I get Fays name, but her name isn't linked up with his.
