for starters, I pulled up www.topozone.com and searched for Atlanta, Arkansas. Atlanta is clearly a small town, but on certain views of the topomap, I do see a cemetery there in town. No name is indicated. I would not expect to find a funeral home there.
This is not an online source, but I happen to own a copy of the mortician's directory (Redbook). The bonus of looking at this, is that some funeral homes have paid ads. There are several mortuaries in Magnolia (county seat), but Lewis Funeral home catches my eye.. since they have been in business since 1904. Gotta love those ads. Their phone is 510 234-1010. This is a 1991 copy of the book, thus the number might be outdated, in which case I would use google to find funeral home Magnolia Arkansas. Many funeral homes are very researcher-friendly, others not.
Aside from that, have you checked the county genweb page for Columbia? Or subbed to the rootsweb mail list? Called or written the closest librarian to ask who is the local history guru, and how to reach them?
All will depend on the time frame, of course.. to find exactly what is out there. If recent enough for death certificate, that should contain details. Of course, funeral homes collect and submit info for those certs and obits, so it may save you time to get directly to them.

You may find some of what you need at http://interment.net/

I notice at mapquest.com that Atlanta is near the Union County line. Other resources you may find helpful is the library at Atlanta's local genealogists, and rootsweb.com's locality (State, County) message boards.
