My mom's grandparents on both sides were German immigrants, and her parents (my maternal grandparents) look very white and NOTHING like my mom. However, my mom looks like her sisters and my grandparents witnessed my mom being born so she and her sisters are still clearly from my grandparents. But my mom looks pretty dark, I mean her coloring and facial features look Middle Eastern, Italian, or Latina/Native American, and her sisters sort of look mulatto or at least part black. To be honest I've never seen any Caucasian women that looked like them. But it's not like any of them could be part Native American since their family's from Germany. Tell me, how can German women look so dark, especially coming out of parents that look so white and nothing like them?

By this, I mean why do they want to deny it? When children ask them about it, why do they get angry and fail to provide a response? Why do they solely identify as African-American and ignore the other part of their heritage? What do "pureblood" natives think about mixed bloods of black, white, hispanic or other descent?

I currently use Family Origins 9.0. I know-ancient news! I want to upgrade and would like reviews from actual users. Please list what you like best AND what you like least. One feature I'd particularly like to have is to add info to multiple individuals at the same time. For example, when I find a family in a census I would like to add the info to each individual record but all at once.

Thanks!

I just know the name and around the time of death. (1919) There might not be a marker or headstone, but I'm sure someone has got to know who all is buried in their cemeteries.
